Joe Rogan accused Kamala Harris’s campaign of lying to cover up the fact that they “got scared” of an interview between the podcaster and former vice president.
Rogan interviewed President Donald Trump shortly before the 2024 presidential election and he was open about talks with Harris’s team falling apart. According to Rogan, he wanted to release Trump and Harris interviews on the same day, but he and her campaign could not agree on issues like scheduling or the allotted time for the chat.
An upcoming book cites some Harris officials when suggesting Rogan sabotaged the Harris interview in favor of Trump, something he’s denied. Rogan doubled down on that denial in an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience this week.
The podcaster said the Harris campaign “got scared” and accused them of lying now to “cover their ass.”
“It’s just normal political bullshit. They just lie. They cover their ass, and they lie. I would have been very happy to have her on, and like I said, the goal was to release both the same day,” Rogan said.
He added that he would have been “nice” and held the then-vice president’s “hand.” Rogan previously claimed that he also made concessions about the topics they could cover, saying the campaign did not want to touch on marijuana legalization, a common topic on Rogan’s podcast.
“They just got scared. They could have put her in. I would have held her hand. We would have had a conversation. Not that I need to hold, you-know, the vice president’s hand,” Rogan said.
“You probably would have voted for her,” his guest Adam Curry responded.
“No, I wouldn’t have done that,” Rogan said, laughing. “I wasn’t going to vote for her.”
