Trump Calls On Alvin Bragg To Resign Or Be Prosecuted For “Illegally Leaking Grand Jury Information”

Former President Donald fired back at Manhattan District Attorney last night from his Florida home Mar-a-Lago. Trump called on Bragg to resign or be prosecuted for illegally leaking massive amounts of grand jury information.

Trump said: “This is a persecution, not an investigation. It’s put our family through hell. It’s cost hundreds of millions of dollars to defend, but our heads are held very, very high. They want to settle the case, but I want no part of that.

“So here we are now in a city that was so great just four or five years ago. But now today as you possibly read, a local failed district attorney charging a former President of the United States for the first time in history on a basis that every single pundit and legal analyst said there is no case.

“Everybody, even people that aren’t big fans have said it. They said this is not the right thing to do. It’s an insult to our country as the world is already laughing at us for so many other reasons.

“This fake case was brought only to interfere with the upcoming 2024 election, and it should be dropped immediately.

“The criminal is the District Attorney because he illegally leaked massive amounts of grand jury information for which he should be prosecuted, or at a minimum he should resign.”

John Bolton, Trump’s former national security adviser, said “As someone who very strongly does not want Donald Trump to get the Republican presidential nomination, I’m extraordinarily distressed.

“I think this is even weaker than I feared it would be, and I think it’s easily subject to being dismissed or a quick acquittal for Trump. There is no basis in the statutory language to say that Trump’s behavior forms either a contribution or an expenditure under federal law.

“If you can construe the statute to cover this behavior, then I think it violates the First Amendment.”

Sen. Mitt Romney said:

“I believe the New York prosecutor has stretched to reach felony criminal charges in order to fit a political agenda.

“No one is above the law, not even former presidents, but everyone is entitled to equal treatment under the law.

“The prosecutor’s overreach sets a dangerous precedent for criminalizing political opponents and damages the public’s faith in our justice system.”
