Tucker Carlson has parted ways with Fox News the network said today. Tucker’s show anchored the Fox lineup and was always at the top of the ratings in almost every important category.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the network said in a statement.
Carlson’s last show was Friday, the network said. Fox News said it will air a new program called “Fox News Tonight” at 8 p.m. starting Monday evening.
This will be an interim show hosted by a rotating cast of Fox News personalities until a new host is named.
Carlson was Fox’s top-rated prime-time host.
He averaged more than 3 million viewers per night.
According to The USA Today:
The release said the two parties “have agreed to part ways.” A rotating panel of people will host Fox News Tonight, the release said.
The news of Carlson’s departure comes the week after Fox News settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems.
