The Don Lemon CNN feud is turning nasty. CNN fired Lemon after months of rumors that he was on the chopping block. Lemon was bickering with his co-hosts and insulted half of America with his misogynist comments.
But it was still a shock when Lemon broke the news of his dismissal on social media. It was not surprising that he tried to play the victim. Lemon said:
“I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would’ve thought that someone in management would’ve had the decency to tell me directly.
“At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work that I have loved at the network.
“It is clear that there are some larger issues at play.
“With that said, I want to thank my colleagues in the many teams I’ve worked with for an incredible run.
“They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them the best.”
Now CNN is refuting Lemon’s story. The network said:
“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate.
“He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter.”
