Correspondent for The Nation and frequent MSNBC analyst Elie Mystal suggested a “rich White person” take Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito to “see the Titanic” after hearing reports of a missing tourist submersible.
Mystal was slammed for “wishing death” on Alito but he tried to save his rear end from a visit from authorities by claiming it was just a “joke.”
Mystal said: “Next time some rich white person wants to take Sam Alito on an expensive trip, please take him to see the Titanic.”
A conservative commentator called him out saying, “This is vile.” Mystal responded, “That was a joke. This is vile.” He then linked a Supreme Court decision he didn’t like betraying his earlier words.
GOP Senator Ted Cruz said:
“Outrageous.
“For months we’ve seen leftists hellbent on destroying the integrity of our Supreme Court with incessant attacks, but outwardly wishing death on one of our finest Justices is truly beyond the pale.”
