Selena Gomez recently went viral for making an emotional plea on social media in reaction to Donald Trump’s deportation measures and arrests. Over 956 people have been arrested by the US agency ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) since Trump took office.
“All my people are getting attacked, the children… I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise,” she cried.
In response to the video, Sam Parker, who many have referred to as a Senate candidate from Utah, tweeted, “Deport Selena Gomez.”
Gomez then posted to her Instagram story, “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”

But a lot of other people on the internet weren’t laughing. “Selena Gomez’s grandparents are immigrants btw. ik yall love to deny her mexican heritage but this isn’t the time. There are people majorly affected by these deportations,” this person pointed out.

And finally, “wishing for selena gomez to sue you for using her name,” this person said.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, responded to Gomez. “If they don’t like it, then go to Congress and change the law. We’re going to do this operation without apology,” he said.
