Elon Musk has revealed that the mass email sent to federal employees—asking them to report exactly what they accomplished last week or face resignation—is generating strong responses.
According to Musk, many federal workers have replied with detailed accounts of their productivity, and some will even be considered for promotions based on their answers.
“The responses are actually quite good. Some will be promoted,” Musk posted, praising the effort as a way to hold government employees accountable for their work.
The email, issued under President Trump’s directive, was intended to weed out inefficiency within the federal workforce. Employees who fail to respond are expected to be considered as having resigned.
The move has sparked a mix of praise and criticism, with supporters calling it a long-overdue accountability measure, while opponents argue it could create unnecessary disruption.
