Ex-Fox News reporter Ed Henry, who was accused of raping a co-worker, has been arrested in Florida. But from the information on the police report, he should beat the rap.
Henry, the former chief White House correspondent for Fox, and co-anchor of America’s Newsroom was arrested in West Palm Beach around 8 p.m. on June 20 when a sheriff’s deputy spotted his Black Cadillac Escalade cruising down the street with a flat tire and exposed metal rim grinding against the road.
Henry was accused of raping ex-Fox News employee Jennifer Eckhart and was accused of sexual harassment by another Fox employee Cathy Areu.
He was unaware he had a flat and was shooting off sparks as he drove down the road according to a deputy’s report. He was arrested for DUI.
The report said: “In doing this the front driver’s side tire came off the rim and rolled into the eastbound lanes almost striking an oncoming vehicle.
“That vehicle had to apply its brakes and swerve to avoid being hit by the tire.”
Henry, 51, pulled into a Cadillac dealership where the Deputy made his move.
The report continues: “While Henry was talking, I was able to smell the odor of unknown alcohol coming from his breath.
“Henry had glassy and bloodshot eyes.
“His gait was unsteady.
“His speech was slightly slurred.”
Henry failed parts of the field sobriety test including the “one leg stand,” the “walk and turn” and the “finger to nose.
“Henry used the pad of his finger instead of the tip on all tasks,” the report said.
“He swayed during the tasked and tilted his head forward.”
Henry admitted to having a few drinks but blew (breathalyzer) under the limit and was arrested anyway.
I did not know if you blow under the legal limit they can still arrest you.
My guess is he beats the charge if he has a good lawyer.
