Ashley St. Clair, a conservative influencer who claimed she gave birth to a child fathered by Elon Musk on social media Friday, opened up about the situation in an interview with The New York Post.
The 26-year-old former Babylon Bee writer and Turning Point USA ambassador told the Post she is thrilled to be a mother. But a representative for St. Clair also said all parties are waiting for Musk to publicly claim the baby – a boy.
Friday afternoon, St. Claoir shared the following statement on her X page:
Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause. I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honor our child’s privacy, and refrain
from invasive reporting.
St. Clair told the Post she would not release the name of her son and said, “My child is the most perfect thing that happened to me. I wouldn’t change anything.”
She praised Musk as “funny” and “down to Earth.” She also said the Tesla CEO, X owner, and the man running President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency wished to keep the baby under wraps for safety reasons.
The child is reportedly his 13th.
She said she and Musk met on the platform the latter now owns after he “slid into” her messages with a meme.
“It started with X interactions and he slid into my DM’s,” she claimed. “I think it was a meme.”
After Musk bought Twitter and lifted a ban on her employer’s account, she said she was asked to travel to meet the billionaire. She said he later asked her to travel to Rhode Island with him by text and a “romance began.”
Once she became pregnant, she said Musk asked to be left off the birth certificate and for her to remain quiet about the child.
She also said before she publicly named him as the father of her son, she reached out to him but her message went “ignored.” St. Clair added her son had met some of Musk’s other children and had spent time around his mother Maye Musk.
“Secrecy” got to her she claimed and a request for comment from a tabloid she declined to name motivated her to go public.
“Almost every relationship in my life would be bastardized and disingenuous because I couldn’t tell them what was going on. My son has never taken a walk outside — in five months. I have never been able to take my baby for a walk. I was terrified that someone would see I had a baby and it would get out,” she said.
In a statement on X, her representative Brian Glicklich wrote:
Ashley & Elon have been privately working towards the creation of an agreement about raising their child for some time. It is disappointing that a tabloid reporter, who repeatedly ambushed Ashley and her family, made it impossible to complete that process confidentially. We are waiting for Elon to publicly acknowledge his parental role with Ashley, to end unwarranted speculation, and Ashley trusts that Elon intends to finish their agreement quickly, in the best interests of the wellbeing and security of the child they share.
