Kevin Costner Breaks Silence On Yellowstone Final Episodes, Says He Will Not Be Back: “I tried to break the log jam, they walked away”

Kevin Costner broke his silence about his future on the hit show Yellowstone saying he has “concluded his work” on Yellowstone. Costner spilled the bean during his bitter divorce and child support battle with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.

Costner said: “There were issues about creative. I tried to break the log jam. They walked away. I was going to do my movie Horizon and leave that show, do my movie, then do the second half. A show I was only doing once a year I was now doing twice.”

“Yellowstone was a complete aberration and provided Kevin with an unusually high level of income — a level he has never had in the past,” court docs said. “Yellowstone was a once-in-a-lifetime event going forward, his income will not reach that level — ever.”

Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan said earlier:

“My last conversation with Kevin was that he had this passion project he wanted to direct. He and the network were arguing about when he could be done with Yellowstone. I said, ‘We can certainly work a schedule toward [his preferred exit date],’ which we did.”

The Yellowstone universe will continue and Mathew McConaughey will star in a “Yellowstone” spinoff series.

McConaughey said on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast: “I am now becoming more interested in actually going to play another character in a TV show because the last four years of culminating and writing and getting these things together and getting more into public service.

“The idea of going to act in the right kind of role, in the right kind of movie, film or series right now sounds like an awesome vacation,” he said.

He said his decision to take a break from acting to focus on other projects has not “been in vain. I’ll be a different or improved actor in my own right after this last three years.

“What I have is so much respect for the vocation of acting.

“I think I have a healthier relationship. I’m not looking at it for my survival and my thrive-all.

“I think good acting emulates life. Real life is where this stuff comes from.

He said on Kelly Ripa’s “Let’s Talk Off Camera” podcast about a scary experience flying where his plane dropped 4,000 feet:

“My tray table is what held me down.

“I did not have my seatbelt on, and there was not a seatbelt warning right before it happened.

“Some people were ghost silent.

“Some people had big bursts of laughter. And it was not like, ‘Oh, this is fun.’ It was like, ‘I’m in shock.’

“Your red wine and the glass and the plates that your food was on are all suspended, floating, still just in the air and then everything just comes crashing down,” he said.
