Matt Gaetz Issues Warning To Kevin McCarthy: “If Kevin McCarthy stands in our way, you may not have the job long”

House GOP lawmakers are warning Speaker Kevin McCarthy that he may lose his job if he doesn’t start delivering. The GOP has one massive piece of leverage over President Joe Biden and if they don’t use it to stop what he is doing to destroy the economy they will find votes hard to come by next year.

Congress has until Sept. 30 to pass legislation to avoid a government shutdown. After this it is basically a lame duck Congress until the elections in 2024.

While Biden is getting the blame for crushing inflation and rampant corruption in DC, if the GOP doesn’t step in and do something they will share the blame in the next election.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fl.) said: “When we get back to Washington in the coming weeks, we have got to seize the initiative.

“That means forcing votes on impeachment.

“And if Kevin McCarthy stands in our way, you may not have the job long,”

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) said::

“I think it’s (motion to vacate) in the back of everybody’s mind.

“If somebody brings that it wouldn’t take much, you know, it just takes a couple of votes.”

One GOP House member can call for a vote on McCarthy. He has been able to keep his job so far but with no Biden impeachment and an economy in the dumps, Kevin is running out of time.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is not on board with holding Joe Biden accountable.

Mitch said:

“The Speaker and the president reached an agreement which I supported in connection with raising the debt ceiling to set spending levels for next year.

“The House then turned around and passed spending levels that were below that level. Without stating an opinion about that, that’s not going to be replicated in the Senate.”

Matt added later:

“I’ve spent the last 8 months giving you my best effort at this with the tools at my disposal.

“It hasn’t been good enough.

“I haven’t been good enough.

“I know that. And I have reflected on it deeply.

“I will endeavor to be better. You deserve better than this.”
