Michelle Obama Goes On CBS, Complains About USA: “We are the only developed country on the planet where its citizens have unfettered access to firearms, that is not a good thing”

Former first lady Michelle Obama went on CBS and scolded Americans over our access to guns saying it was “not a good thing.” CBS host Gayle King complained about the recent shootings across the country before asking Obama if there was anything that could be done to “reconcile gun violence in this country.”

Michelle said: “I hope and pray that at some point, ‘enough becomes enough. We are the only developed country on the planet where its citizens can have unfettered access to firearms. That is not a good thing.

“More of us have to feel strongly about it. In particularly our young people. This is where democracy comes in. Voting — all of this stuff is decided in the ballot box.

King talked about presidential scandals. “I mean you went eight years where there were really relatively no scandals to speak of, compared to what we’re dealing with even now,” King said before asking is she felt “enormous pressure” as the first Black president and first lady in the White House.

“Absolutely,” Obama said.

“So yes, Barack knew that he couldn’t afford a scandal. I mean, he wore a tan suit and got criticized,” she said.

She also took a swipe at former President Donald Trump. She said of having her official portrait unveiled during Biden’s term not Trump’s:

“That’s tradition. You do your official portraits.

“The next president is supposed to invite you back to hang them.

“We were never invited back,” she said.

She also opened up about her marriage struggles. She said:

“And a lot of young people quit on marriage over things that are just a part of the commitment.

“We’ve been married for 30 years.

“If I fell out with him for 10, and we had a great 20 years, I’d take those odds anytime.

“Control happens when you know how to make yourself happy, where you know how to create your own joy,” she said.
