Nancy Pelosi Proves She’s A Fraud With Trump Comment, Gets Rebuke From Fack Checker: “Ms. Pelosi mistakenly says”

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) removed her mask and proved she is a total fraud with her comment about the indictment of former President Donald Trump. Our system legal system is based on the concept of innocent until proven guilty.

But not for Pelosi when it comes to Trump. Instead, Pelosi put the burden of proof on the defendants, not the state saying that “everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence” and that the justice system gives Trump that right.

She said: “The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law. No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.”

Pelosi made the statement on Twitter and was shut down by Twitter’s fact-checking system Community Notes. It reminded the former Speaker:

“Ms. Pelosi mistakenly says that Trump can prove his innocence at trial. Law in the US assumes the innocence of a defendant and the prosecution must prove guilt for a conviction.

“A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is assumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty.

“As such, a prosecutor is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person committed the crime if that person is to be convicted. To do so, proof must be shown for every single element of a crime.

“The presumption of innocence is not guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. However, through statutes and court decisions–such as the U.S. Supreme Court case of Taylor v. Kentucky–it has been recognized as one of the most basic requirements of a fair trial.”

Lindsey Graham said:

“This is one of the most irresponsible decisions in American history by any prosecutor.

“It is irresponsible because the case was looked at by two previous prosecutors and they passed. It has not aged like fine wine.

“The chief witness for prosecution is a convicted felon, Michael Cohen, whose previous lawyer said he is untrustworthy.

“Upon scrutiny, this case folds like a cheap suit. So how does this end? Trump wins in court and he wins at the ballot box.”
