Nashville police chief confirms school shooter Audrey Hale identifies as transgender, suggests her trans identity played a role: “We have a manifesto and a map of how all of this was going to play out.”
When asked if Hale’s transgender identity played a role in the murders the police chief said, “There’s right now a theory that we may be able to talk about later but it’s not confirmed. There is some theory to that, we’re investigating all the leads.”
Liberal reporter Glenn Greenwald, who has fallen out of favor on the left, wants the media to be consistent with how they report this shooting. He said:
“Who radicalized the Nashville shooter?
“What media outlets, pundits and politicians share and spread the murderer’s ideology?
“This is the twisted game that’s played every time there’s a massacre that presents the opportunity to blame one’s enemies.
“It can’t be done selectively.”
Audrey E. Hale was 28. She was a former student of the school and lived a short distance away. She killed three children and three adults were killed in the shooting at a private Catholic grade school.
Hale was shot dead by the police. Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake said: “At one point she was a student at that school. There was a vehicle that was nearby that gave us clues as to who she was.
“There was a door that was entered. All doors were locked, to our understanding, and how exactly she got in, at this point, is still under investigation.
According to The Independent:
Chief Drake added that while there was no known history of mental illness, it was a lead that was being investigated.
He also said Hale had been considering targeting another location – which was not identified – but had apparently decided not to because of the level of security around it.
“Right now we believe it was a lone assailant, and we don’t anticipate any further damage at this time.”
The killer’s name was released as the six victims were also identified.
Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all aged 9, were fatally shot.
Katherine Koonce, age 60, and Cynthia Peak and Mike Hill, both age 61, were also among the six victims
According to The New York Post:
Police said Hale once attended the school and an online profile listed her as working in Commercial Illustration and Graphic Design.
She was shot dead by police on site at 10:27 a.m.
A car was located near the Covenant School, where the 14-minute shooting spree took place Monday morning, and provided investigators clues as to the shooter’s identity, Metro Nashville Chief of Police John Drake said at a press conference.
