Former President Donald Trump on Friday said that he has been “targeted” in Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James’ civil fraud case against him.
In an all-caps post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that he was “defamed” in the New York case and said that it is just another instance of “election interference” in his 2024 Republican presidential campaign.
“IN THE NYS A.G. LETITIA JAMES CASE, I WAS TARGETED, GIVEN NO JURY, NO EXTENSIONS, NO COMMERCIAL DIVISION, NO CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, NO ANYTHING!” Trump posted.
He continued: “THE DEMOCRAT JUDGE HATES TRUMP WITH A PASSION. THE THING I HAVE IS A GREAT CASE BASED ON PHENOMENAL NUMBERS THAT SHOW A NET WORTH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS MORE THAN SHE VICIOUSLY & FALSELY CLAIMED, VERY LITTLE DEBT, BIG CASH, A POWERFUL DISCLAIMER CLAUSE, PAID OFF LOANS, NO DEFAULTS, ‘HAPPY’ BANKS, GREAT ASSETS. I WAS DEFAMED BY NYS – ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”
Trump’s post comes after transcripts of his seven-hour-long testimony from his second deposition in April were released. The first time Trump testified before James, he pleaded the fifth, however, in the newest deposition, transcripts show he had a number of long-winded answers.
