In an unprecedented crackdown on organized crime, President Donald Trump and Secretary Marco Rubio have successfully secured the extradition of 29 top cartel leaders from Mexico to the United States for prosecution.
Among them is Rafael Caro Quintero, the notorious cartel boss responsible for the brutal m*rder of DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. Quintero was flown into New York and officially handed over to U.S. authorities.
“This is the highest number of extraditions [in one day] in the history of Mexico, without question,” said Mike Virgil, former DEA head of international operations.
The move marks a major victory in the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime, signaling a new era of aggressive U.S. action against the cartels.
