President Donald Trump has hailed Elon Musk for uncovering what he describes as a massive government fraud scheme involving hundreds of billions of dollars in fake contracts.
“What Elon Musk has done is unbelievable. He’s found hundreds of billions worth of fake contracts… The whole thing’s a SCAM!” Trump declared.
Trump suggested that these fraudulent deals were part of a larger cycle of corruption, implying that a significant portion of the money sent out eventually found its way back to those who orchestrated the contracts.
“And you’ll find that a lot of the money they sent comes back to the people that made those deals,” he added.
Musk has been conducting deep audits within federal agencies as part of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative, an effort to eliminate wasteful spending and corruption. His findings are already shaking up Washington, as more scrutiny is placed on past government spending.
With Musk and Trump both calling out alleged corruption, the next question is: Who will be held accountable?
