Al Sharpton gave the eulogy today for an ex-con who threatened a full New York City subway car, Jordan Neely, and died after being subdued by a Marine and two other passengers. Al is blaming the Marine, Daniel Penny, not Neely or his family who left the mentally unstable man to live on the streets.
This despite a new witness coming forward and saying Penny acted in self-defense and the entire car of passengers was terrified by Neely’s ranting. So what does Al do? Ignores the witness and calls out Florida Governor Ron DeSantis instead.
He trashed DeSantis for calling Penny a good samaritan and lost what little credibility he had left. (See Video Below) The witness, who described herself as a woman of color, said it is wrong for New York DA Alvin Bragg to charge Penny. She said Penny is a hero.
She said: “It was self-defense, and I believe in my heart that he saved a lot of people that day that could have gotten hurt.
“I’m sitting on a train reading my book, and, all of a sudden, I hear someone spewing this rhetoric. He said, ‘I don’t care if I have to kill an F, I will. I’ll go to jail, I’ll take a bullet.’
“I’m looking at where we are in the tube, in the sardine can, and I’m like, ‘OK, we’re in between stations.
“There’s nowhere we can go,’
“The people on that train, we were scared.
“We were scared for our lives.”
The witness said Penny only stepped in to take the deranged ex-con down when Neely started using words like “kill” and “bullet.”
She said:
“Why in the world would you take a bullet?
“Why?
“You don’t take a bullet because you’ve snatched something from somebody’s hand.
“You take a bullet for violence.
“Mr. Penny cared for people.
“That’s what he did.
“That is his crime.
“Nobody wants to kill anybody. Mr. Penny didn’t want to kill that man.
“You should have seen the way Mr. Penny looked.
“He was distraught.
“He was very, very, very visibly distressed. And he didn’t go.
“He didn’t run. He stayed,” she said.

Newly released footage shows that ex-Marine Daniel Penny placed a still-breathing Jordan Neely in “recovery position” for safety while a passenger encourages him, saying, “he’ll be alright.”
