Watch: Mike Pence Gets Booed In Home State At NRA Convention Today

Former Vice President got a rude welcome in his home state of Indiana today when he spoke at the NRA convention. Pence was met with a loud chorus of boos. He took it in stride making a joke about the less than enthusiastic welcome.

It is a bad sign for Pence. Because a bunch of other 2024 GOP presidential hopefuls are in Indianapolis for the National Rifle Association convention too. They are all there to make their pitch to these conservative voters and if the welcome Pence got is an indication of where he stands he should hang it up before he tries to enter the 2024 race.

Former President Donald Trump will be there and may end up sharing a stage with Pence for a brief moment. Other GOP candidates and prospects in attendance include South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and Vivek Ramaswamy.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott and former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley will deliver video messages to the crucial primary voting block.

The 2024 contenders are speaking at a Friday afternoon “leadership forum.” This is where Trump and Pence may be in the same room together for the first time since they left office.

According to CNN, DeSantis allies think Trump is vulnerable on the 2nd Amendment:

“Governor DeSantis is a proven champion of our Constitutional right to bear arms and took action as governor to strengthen and affirm the Second Amendment, including signing constitutional carry legislation into law this month,” said Erin Perrine, spokeswoman for Never Back Down, a super PAC that is encouraging DeSantis to run for president.

“Donald Trump made promises to NRA members when he ran for office, but then as president, he caved to pressure from the Washington establishment, liberal media, and gun-grabbing Democrats and attacked the NRA, siding with liberal Democrat Senators like Chris Murphy and Dianne Feinstein in support of their gun control legislation,” Perrine said.
